Jill, I actually agree. It's funny, these 6-word blogs sparked many of my conversations today with other AP English 12 students. I would prefer to do Data Sheets, and not just because they're easier, but I actually began to enjoy doing them because they were always so predictable. Even without the rubric, I'm sure any one of us could recite exactly what you need for a Data Sheet with no problem. Furthermore, Data Sheet don't cause us to revert into this meek, helpless students that we become when it's paper writing time, asking useless questions and spending more time curled up in a ball than ever before. Data Sheets are almost comforting, whereas papers just make everyone nervous and crazy.
But ten of them!?!? Come on, that would take years. I would much rather do something more difficult in shorter amount of time than do basically busy work for a much longer period of time.
I would have to agree with Haley and Jillian about the Data Sheet. Also, with how this essay looks I might just use the stress reduction poster you found. Ten might be a little extreme but I definitely prefer Data Sheets.
Jillian, this blog post is simply ignorant.
