We're Watching A Movie...?
Many students seem very excited to watch this movie and avoid the dreaded English class discussions, and I am so happy to not stress about discussions and reading, but I cannot help but feel a little reluctant towards this movie. For one, I do not particularly enjoy watching movies. According to many of my friends, I have never seen a "good movie." Here is a list of the movies I have not seen that will probably shock many: Harry Potter (all the movies), Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Dark Knight, Oceans (all of them), Inception (Carolyn is very upset), Avatar, and The Godfather. I often struggle to watch an entire movie without getting bored or falling asleep. Just last weekend, I was at Thomas' house with a bunch of friends, watching an action packed movie, The A Team, and yet I still fell asleep for a good 45 minutes of the movie. Also, when I told my family we were watching Shutter Island, they all immediately freaked out. "Why are you watching that movie?" or "It's so creepy!" JJ even said "That movie is frickin weird," and for those of you who do not know her, the word "frickin" is practically a swear word to her. So, I must admit, I am reluctant and afraid to continue watching this movie. I am the biggest scaredy cat it my family, so I am sure I will be freaked out. If you hear a scream in during the movie, it will probably be from me. Another thing mentioned during this conversation came from my sister who was also in AP English throughout high school. She got upset and jealous that they never watched as many movies as us, so for this, I do thank you, Ms. Serensky! But, I am still nervous and scared to watch this creepy movie for the next couple of days. Am I the only one?

I was also a little nervous to watch this film, I wouldn't say I'm someone who generally handles scary movies well. However, I find that the movie is more supsenseful and mysterious than scary. This is good, although the plot did become creepier today, so the movie could be headed into scary territory.
